Intersection of circles can create shapes like Dyad, Triangle, Square and even a Pentagon. From our toes and fingers to the pentagonal shapes of flowers and starfish, five brings a certain spark of life to the world. The solid material square gets a lift from the addition of a fifth point, which brings with it starry shapes and spiraling ideas. the hallmark of five is the Pentagon, in which we find stars, spirals and something enigmatic called the "golden ratio". The golden ratio is the mathematical ratio or proportion that is often the growth factor in living forms.
The fertile pentagon perfectly expresses its qualities of self-reflection and regenration for within and without its borders, spirals and curl and unfurl as stars find infinite expression. The inspiration behind this series is the patterns found in nature. Recognition of patterns and shapes can profoundly affect how we see ourselves in relation to each other and the world in which we live, to embrace ideas that unite us, not divide us. In observing connections, we can establish associations that lead to kinshop and the possibility of peace.
