Information pollution or Fake news has gripped the world. Right from the USA to emerging economies like India no one seems to have been spared. As the worrld's largest democracy with the second largest polulation, the issue of fake news poses a unique threat to India. Not only do the low literacy rates make it hard to implement the true spirit of democratic decision making but add that an explosion of fake news and the divisive propaganda, and there looms a real threat to the country's democratic fabric itself. Lord Ganesha asks us to be aware of these and to be beware of fake news.
In this painting he is watching the Doordarshan channel of the Goverment of India's intiative on television from where he is able to get the accurate and authentic news on any current topic and/ or Covid 19 pandemic.
