There is an ancient tradition in Rajasthan to decorate the camels for branding of ownership so that the owner can recognize his camels from others in a fair like Pushkar. The Pushkar camel fair is changing from market to heritage attraction. The owners use fabric with mirror works, embroidery, macramé, murals and garlands of flowers to showcase their animals and take a lot of pride in their ownership. This ancient tradition of the holy town of Pushkar intrigued me to make a painting of the same.
