Hexagonal Punch

This is the sixth painting in the series titled "Cosmic Connections". 
A hexagon comes with six sides to hook up and get organized. This sturcture allows the hexagon to funciton in an efficient way. Hexagonal confriguations created by two way junctions at 120 degree angles allows nature to accomplish the most with the least. I have chosen the Tiger Lily flower to show hexagons in nature. 
 
The inspiration behind this series is the patterns found in nature. Recognition of patterns and shapes can profoundly affect how we see ourselves in relation to each other and the world in which we live, to embrace ideas that unite us, not divide us. In observing connetions, we can establish associations that lead to kinship and the possibility of peace.
