Based on the blue city of Jodhpur this painting depicts the humanitarian side of this desert city. An earthenware picture of cold water is placed outside the Rajasthani homes for travellers, passer bys to quench their thirst. This is also called 'piyo' in Marwari language where people offer a glass of water to guests, strangers, animals and birds. A beautiful philosophy and a way of life, isn''t it?
